The opportunity

EY is seeking an experienced and strategically minded external communications professional to join the Global Media Relations and Social Media Team, with a focus on supporting Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility. This role will lead the day‑to‑day delivery of global media relations and social storytelling that supports EY’s ambition to be a trusted voice on sustainability and our corporate responsibility. Working closely with senior Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility leadership, as well as colleagues across Global Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC), the role will help translate complex priorities into clear, credible and compelling narratives for global audiences. Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility are central to EY’s strategy and reputation, shaping how the organization creates value for clients, people, society and the planet. This role has a key part to play in ensuring those priorities are reflected consistently and confidently across media and social channels. While Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility will be the main focus of the portfolio, this role is designed to be flexible and scalable, enabling the individual to support additional priorities, portfolios or high‑profile campaigns as required across the wider Global Media Relations and Social Media Team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the day‑to‑day delivery of global media relations and social storytelling in support of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility priorities.
  • Develop and execute PR plans that translate sustainability strategies, thought leadership, research and reporting into strong media narratives with global relevance.
  • Draft and deliver high‑quality communications materials, including press releases, media briefings, messaging, op‑eds, bylines, blogs and executive social content.
  • Identify proactive media and social opportunities aligned to the evolving news agenda, stakeholder expectations and moments that matter.
  • Support major sustainability‑related announcements, campaigns and events, ensuring consistency of message, tone and quality across markets.
  • Lead social media campaigns and leadership content, partnering closely as needed with the Global Social Media Team, to support integrated storytelling across social channels.

Measurement and insight

  • Use audience, media and platform insights to refine narratives, support stakeholder counsel and strengthen future PR and social media delivery.
  • Contribute to reporting and performance summaries that demonstrate reputational impact and communications value.

Leadership and teaming

  • Act as a trusted PR and media relations partner to senior stakeholders, supporting delivery through strong counsel, clear recommendations and confident execution.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders and projects in a fast‑paced, global environment, applying sound judgment and prioritization.
  • Enable and support the global network of media relations and social media professionals, sharing guidance, messaging and best practices to support consistent activation across markets.
  • Work collaboratively across the Global Media Relations and Social Media team and wider BMC function, contributing to an inclusive, supportive and high‑performing team culture.
  • Provide delivery‑focused leadership through influence rather than formal people management, supporting alignment, confidence and clarity across global teams.
  • Flexibly support additional priorities or high‑profile campaigns as part of the Global Media Relations and Social Media team.

Skills and attributes for success

  • A strong team player and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently.
  • Ability to track and use the global news agenda to proactively develop opportunities for comment or for pitching reports.
  • Prepare press releases and other media briefing materials for launches of global surveys, studies, annual announcements and campaigns; create content that builds engagement with the global media relations network.
  • Support the social media profile for global stakeholders and work closely with the Social Media Team to collaborate on campaign and projects.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Minimum 8 years of PR experience working in-house or PR agency.
  • Extensive experience in managing and advising senior leadership on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • A strong writer with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An ability to work with complex, sometimes technical or specialist content.
  • Existing relationships and the ability to cultivate new relationships with international business media e.g. Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Fortune.
  • Proven experience managing social media campaign activations.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A passion for social media, current affairs and business news.
  • Understanding of the sustainability landscape with the ability to develop content related to evolving ESG landscape.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with people in countries around the globe.
  • A self‑starter with a “can do” attitude and the drive to get the job done; the potential to develop within the organization.
