- Viridien is seeking a
Junior Buyer to support day-to-day procurement activities across facilities, MRO, operational, and indirect spend categories, while providing procurement support for HPC infrastructure when required.
This is an early-career role focused on purchase order processing, supplier coordination, order tracking, and procurement administration.
Working closely with procurement colleagues and operational teams, you will help ensure the timely delivery of goods and services that support business continuity across the UK and Eastern Hemisphere operations.
About The Team
You will join the Procurement team, supporting the Bolney Data Center and wider UK operations, with opportunities to contribute to procurement activities across the Eastern Hemisphere.
The team works closely with operational stakeholders, suppliers, and infrastructure teams to deliver efficient procurement services that support critical business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Operations
- Review purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in line with company policies.
- Obtain supplier quotations and validate pricing, specifications, and delivery requirements.
- Ensure purchases align with approved budgets, contracts, and procurement procedures.
- Supplier Management
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, and deliveries.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve routine order or delivery issues.
- Escalate supply, quality, or service concerns where appropriate.
- Order Management
- Track purchase orders from placement through to delivery.
- Expedite orders to support operational priorities.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and status updates.
- Operational Support
- Support procurement activities for the Bolney Data Center, including facilities, maintenance, MRO, and operational requirements.
- Provide transactional support for HPC infrastructure procurement, including servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain procurement documentation, supplier records, and ERP system data.
- Support invoice reconciliation and reporting activities.
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure compliance with procurement policies and controls.
Qualifications
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Up to 3 years' experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related role.
- Understanding of the purchase requisition to purchase order (PR-to-PO) process.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
- Preferred
- Experience in procurement, facilities, MRO, or indirect sourcing.
- Experience using ERP or procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Coupa.
- Experience managing suppliers and purchase orders.
- Exposure to data centre, infrastructure, maintenance, or operational procurement.
