BUSINESS SEGMENT AND ROLE OVERVIEW
The E-Trading Risk and Control team addresses critical risk management priorities within the Global Banking & Markets Public division and develops innovative risk and control solutions. The team focuses on identifying and mitigating risks associated with electronic trading activities within the Global Banking & Markets Division.
As part of the Electronic Trading Risk & Control team within the First Line of Defence, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and governance of the electronic trading control framework.
You will gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of electronic trading activities and associated risks, leveraging this knowledge to develop and manage the electronic trading control repository. You will actively identify automation and data-driven opportunities to strengthen the control environment and contribute to the design of impactful controls across the division. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, engineers, and traders to drive efficiency.
As part of the E-Trading Risk and Control team based in the EU it will be important to build knowledge of the local regulatory environment and read-across to the internal processes and controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving and supporting the electronic trading governance and control framework globally by partnering with senior leadership to establish standards and best practices
  • Enabling the Business to onboard new and material changes to electronic trading activities across FICC and Equities businesses for Committee review and approval
  • Support the EU Regional E-Trading Risk and Control strategy
  • Driving projects improving and maintaining tools supporting the Electronic Trading control framework
  • Designing and enhancing automated / data-driven processes to provide Business Supervisors with best-in-class tools to supervise the risk in their business
  • Coordination of Global automated trading related risk assessments and certifications
  • Review of e-trading related operational risk events
  • Develop key metrics to measure effectiveness of the automated trading and Supervisory control framework
  • Liaise with other Divisions, such Compliance, Legal, Risk and Internal Audit as well as support regulatory interactions

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE\’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Understanding of risks and controls across electronic trading, sales and trading business
  • Understanding of revenue generative functions
  • Working knowledge of software driven risks
  • Experience managing projects, and building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Experience of operational risk and a familiarity with operational risk frameworks a plus
  • Experience in process redesign and executing strategic concepts from inception to implementation
  • Ability to prioritize and meet simultaneous competing demands and a passion for a drive to deliver
  • Interest in developments in the global financial regulatory environment, specific knowledge of automated trading related regulation and front office supervision frameworks a plus
