Position: Corporate Development Ventures & Acquisitions – Consultant/Specialist

Location: London

Responsibilities:

  • Enjoy a fantastic opportunity to gain transaction experience in one of the world’s most acquisitive firms in our sector by transaction volume.
  • You will get a full view of inorganic strategy and activities across the transaction lifecycle from origination to integration typical of a corporate development role, but with a global transaction volume of 20‑45 per annum.
  • Support the origination, evaluation, execution and negotiation of Accenture strategic acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and divestitures across Europe; main weighting of activity for this role is the deal execution phase.
  • Analyse market landscape to find appropriate targets according to inorganic strategy objectives and specified target criteria.
  • Evaluate acquisition opportunities and target companies, including developing target evaluation criteria, collaborating with sponsoring business strategy teams.
  • Business and financial analysis of potential merger and acquisition targets to judge viability and fit.
  • Develop financial models which demonstrate impact of M&A on Accenture economics.
  • Prepare target company valuations.
  • Perform appropriate due diligence exercises (including interaction with specialist teams) and coordinate across multi‑disciplined workstreams.
  • Support negotiation of key transaction documents.
  • Prepare reports for senior Accenture executive team and board review and approval.
  • Communicate professionally, confidently and competently with target management/owners and their advisors.
  • Work with operational and integration teams post acquisition to drive success.
  • Train other Corporate Development team members and share knowledge and techniques.

Learning / Development:

  • Corporate Development and Corporate Finance techniques and experience from a highly active M&A programme and an experienced team.
  • Relationships and credibility with a broad range of stakeholders across the external M&A advisory and investment community, and with internal Accenture business sponsors, content experts, deal and operational roles.
  • Professional communication and relationship‑building.
  • Access to a structured knowledge and experience base built on many closed transactions globally in recent years, and from international experts and external advisors.
  • Due diligence, both financial and operational.
  • Advanced programme management.
  • Deal execution, including operational problem‑solving, judgement, legal agreements and negotiation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Up to 5 years of experience gained in Big Four (or comparable) Corporate Finance or Transaction Services, or in other Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory or in a Corporate Development department, preferably with demonstrable experience in M&A transactions and corporate finance techniques.
  • University degree in finance, and/or ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA qualified.
  • Strong programme management and commercial skills.
  • Excellent analytical (including advanced Excel modelling skills), writing and verbal skills.
  • Experience using AI tools.
  • Professional maturity and personal integrity.
  • Robust communication, collaboration and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ambition.
  • Proficiency in English. Other European languages will be an advantage.
