We design new services that make a lasting impact by improving users lives, making our country safer and enabling business to evolve. We are expanding the team to deliver new digital products and experiences for users of both public and private sector clients. The STS Digital Consulting practice comprises Business Analysis, Enterprise Service Design and 5 design disciplines, being User Research, Service Design, Interaction Design, Design Systems and Design Thinking.
As a Business Analyst
You will play an important role in bridging the gap between all business stakeholders, both internal and external, including Sales, Project Management, Technical Architecture, Development, QA Testing, and service support colleagues. You will take ownership to understand the change needs of our clients, investigate business problems and opportunities, and facilitate the delivery of appropriate changes through the application of business analysis techniques and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Discovery leadership: planning, conducting, analysing and communicating findings that ground design decisions against user needs.
- Be intellectually curious, creative problem solver, and advocate for inclusive, accessible services for a diverse user population.
- Collaborative and supportive, working in a multidisciplinary team and engaging with stakeholders.
- Co-create with stakeholders and users; lead workshops and inclusive design initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders; communicate with business people, designers, engineers and other stakeholders.
- Guide analysis, design, and evaluation of process improvements using best-practice methods, tools, and standards.
- Translate business needs into traceable requirements with measurable value and priority.
- Reshape user stories and define acceptance criteria with the team.
- Elaborate epics and user stories for development units.
- Collaborate with Design and Research teams; integrate user research into elaboration and continuous improvement.
- Assist Delivery Manager/Scrum Master with maintenance of Agile boards.
- Articulate the definition of ready/done, kickoff and sign-off for user stories.
- Work with other BAs, Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Technical Leads, QA and external stakeholders on site.
- Act as subject matter expert and share knowledge and best practice.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations drawing on specialist knowledge and experience.
- Promote best practice and business analysis across Secure Transformation Services.
Experience
- Previous business analysis experience; leadership within the BA community.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior business analysts.
- Experience of leading projects and building analysis capability and communities of practice.
- Knowledge and application of Requirements Engineering and SDLC.
- Experience applying BA techniques such as BPMN, Context Diagrams, Use Cases, SWOT, MOST, and Business Activity Models.
- Experience working in agile contexts and fast-paced, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with prioritisation techniques (RoM, t-shirt sizing, MoSCoW).
- Understanding of user-centric design with non-functional aspects such as security, privacy, accessibility, performance and reliability.
