About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level engineer to join our small, collaborative engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you will be writing code every day, contributing to real product decisions, and growing your skills alongside experienced engineers who are invested in your development. You will work across the full stack. You do not need to have done it all. What matters is that you are curious, care about your craft, and want to keep getting better.
What You Will Be Working With
Our stack includes TypeScript, React, and React Query on the frontend, with AWS Lambda, Node.js, and PostgreSQL on the backend, running on AWS cloud infrastructure. You do not need experience with every part of this. We care more about how you think and learn than whether you have used a specific tool before.
What You Will Be Doing
- Building and Delivering: You will contribute to building and shipping features, help keep our codebase healthy, and develop your understanding of how to balance speed with quality. Over time, you will get involved in identifying bottlenecks, improving reliability, and shaping how we build things.
- Growing and Collaborating: You will work closely with more experienced engineers who will support your growth, through code reviews, pairing, and open technical conversation. As you grow into the role, you will start contributing your own perspective to how we approach problems.
- Getting Involved Beyond the Code: We are a small team, so everyone has a voice. You will get exposure to product thinking, technical planning, and conversations with non-technical colleagues, good preparation for wherever you want to take your career.
What We Are Looking For
You will likely have:
- A working understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Comfort working with version control and collaborative development workflows
- An interest in how systems fit together, APIs, services, data flow
It would be great if you have, but it is not essential:
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)
- Familiarity with serverless or event-driven patterns
- Some exposure to React or frontend development
- An interest in SaaS or integration-heavy platforms
We are more interested in how you approach problems than how many years you have been doing it.
What We Offer
- Flexible hybrid working.
- No out-of-hours support.
- Real influence.
- A learning culture.
- A collaborative team.
- 25 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
- Life Assurance (4× salary)
- Income Protection (75% salary after 26 weeks)
- Access to WeCare Employee Assistance Programme
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- Annual eyecare voucher with Specsavers
- Wrkit Savings & Benefits platform
We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. If you are excited about this role but do not tick every box, we would still love to hear from you. Curiosity and a desire to learn matter more to us than a perfect checklist.
