A London-based insurance organisation is seeking an Underwriting Manager (12 Month FTC) to support underwriting performance, governance, and reporting within a Lloyd’s syndicate environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the production of internal and external underwriting reports, ensuring all regulatory returns are accurate and delivered on time.
- Manage and develop analysts within the Underwriting Management team.
- Ensure underwriting controls and policy documentation remain effective and compliant with evolving regulations.
- Take ownership of the year-end audit process, liaising with auditors and resolving queries efficiently.
- Drive continuous improvement across underwriting processes, reporting, and controls.
- Support strategic projects to enhance underwriting capabilities, insights, and analytics.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure data integrity, performance tracking, and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to performance management, governance, and analytics initiatives across the underwriting function.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years’ experience within the Lloyd’s market or insurance sector.

- Strong understanding of underwriting controls, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools; knowledge of SQL is advantageous.
