Senior Syndicate Accountant role with a leading specialty insurance and reinsurance organisation focused on regulatory reporting, statutory accounts and financial reporting for Lloyd’s Syndicates and related legal entities. The position supports the preparation and submission of regulatory returns (including Solvency II and BMA requirements), while also mentoring team members and assisting senior management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit statutory returns for Lloyd’s Syndicates, including Solvency II reporting.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory returns to relevant regulatory bodies, including the BMA.
  • Produce statutory accounts for Lloyd’s Syndicates and syndicate-related legal entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support the Senior Manager in delivering team objectives and reporting obligations.
  • Train, mentor, and develop direct report(s).
  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Reporting team to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and business needs.
  • Provide technical accounting and reporting expertise within the Lloyd’s insurance market.

Must-Haves

  • Qualified accountant with relevant post‑qualification experience.
  • Strong insurance accounting and reporting experience within the Lloyd’s of London market.
  • Extensive experience preparing and completing regulatory returns.
  • Experience producing statutory accounts.
  • Knowledge of Solvency II reporting requirements.
