Overview
A 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Financial Accountant supporting delegated authority/MGA operations within a specialist insurance business.
The role focuses on month-end reporting, technical accounting, reconciliations, audit preparation and process improvement.
Working as part of a finance transformation programme, you will help automate and streamline financial processes while collaborating with finance teams and stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end financial close activities, including technical accounts and bank reconciliations.
- Produce and quality assure bordereaux and related reporting.
- Prepare quarterly audit files, coordinating supporting schedules and documentation to meet deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to improve, standardise and automate finance processes.
- Collaborate with finance and reporting teams across multiple locations.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and business change projects.
- Assist with the setup of new business streams and other cross-functional projects.
- Provide support to the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as required.
- Promote high standards of governance, compliance and customer outcomes.
Qualifications / Must Haves
- Previous experience in technical accounting, financial accounting and/or credit control.
- Experience of month-end processes, reconciliations and audit preparation.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (advanced level preferred).
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team.
- Fluent English (additional language skills are advantageous).
- Interest in process improvement, automation and finance transformation.
