An experienced Interim Finance Advisory Lead is required to support the Finance function of a specialty insurance and reinsurance business operating within the Lloyd's market. The role focuses on strengthening financial governance, controls, reporting, liquidity management, capital oversight, and technical accounting while supporting strategic business initiatives and senior stakeholder reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as deputy to the Head of CFO Advisory, providing cover and support on key finance advisory activities.
  • Support critical executive and strategic business initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance financial governance, reporting, and control frameworks across the managing agency and syndicates.
  • Lead the implementation of new and enhanced financial controls, procedures, and documentation, including upstream data quality controls.
  • Review finance risks and controls, working closely with Risk and other stakeholders to ensure effective mitigation.
  • Support the development of liquidity forecasting processes and cash management controls.
  • Assist with asset and liability matching analysis and related governance frameworks.
  • Analyse foreign exchange exposures and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor capital requirements, available capital positions, and funding needs.
  • Strengthen controls over operating expenditure and trust fund payments.
  • Perform balance sheet analysis and account substantiation.
  • Review and document accounting policies, technical accounting treatments, and key accounting judgments.
  • Liaise with external auditors and support audit activities where required.
  • Prepare reporting and presentations for senior management, boards, and committees.
  • Assess and manage the finance operating impact of new business initiatives and structures.
  • Conduct financial reviews of delegated authority partners and coverholders in collaboration with underwriting teams.
  • Support ongoing risk management activities within the Finance function.

Must Haves

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience within the Lloyd's of London insurance market.
  • Strong technical insurance accounting knowledge, including syndicate accounting.
  • In-depth understanding of Lloyd's regulatory reporting requirements and applications.
  • Knowledge of finance systems such as Infor Q&A, Sun Systems, and Phinsys is advantageous.
  • Experience with Solvency II Pillar 3 reporting is desirable.
