About The Role
The purpose of the role is to support the Group Reporting Manager, Group Financial Controller and other members of the Finance Team in delivering the Quanta Group’s core financial function and to assist with other aspects of general management as required. It will offer a broad range of exposure and scope for future progression. The role will span different companies within Quanta Group and so will require flexibility to work with varying systems and processes. Quanta Group is expanding and accordingly we seek applicants who have a flexible approach and are willing to respond to the challenges of a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. The role holder will be supported in their studies towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA or CIMA) and therefore we seek applicants with the ambition and drive to gain further qualifications and to develop a career in finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable – joint management of the accounts payable function alongside the Finance Assistant, ensuring that all invoices and expenses received are correctly recorded and validated, that outstanding balances are paid on time and any queries are addressed and resolved.
- Sales Statistics – compiling and circulating daily, weekly and monthly statistics on sales performance, including ad‑hoc queries of new business inflows.
- Banking/Payments – ensure payments are made on a timely basis, mainly in respect of the Group’s daily funding requirements to ensure regulatory compliance. Be the point of contact for any banking queries or updates.
- Reconciliations – performance of key reconciliations including weekly bank and income reconciliations.
- Financial Transactions – posting of financial journals to the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are captured to the Group’s accounting package.
- Finance KPIs – compiling weekly KPIs containing a variety of finance and business data to be issued to the Group’s Board and shareholders. The role holder will be the main point of contact for any questions or queries arising from these reports.
- Supporting the external audit with preparation of reports and schedules, responding to audit queries and other assistance as required.
- Ad‑Hoc Financial Analysis – additional ad‑hoc analysis to support the business, including interrogation of sales data, reviewing costs, cash flow analysis, assisting in compiling the budget and a range of other tasks.
About You
Essential:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent, having gained professional qualification through sponsored work programme).
- Numerate with an understanding of finance and bookkeeping, gained either through a related university degree or through experience of working in a similar role.
- Ambition to progress and to develop a career within finance and desire to gain an accountancy qualification.
- Competent user of MS Excel.
- Organised, methodical approach to work.
- Experience of using at least one major financial software package (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage, Great Plains, Microsoft 360 or another equivalent).
Desirable:
- Experience of working within a finance team.
- Experience of working within financial services, ideally at either a platform, wealth manager or financial advisory business.
