About The Role

Provide proactive, independent risk expertise across strategic change initiatives to ensure transformation outcomes are delivered safely and sustainably. This role embeds robust risk practices into delivery lifecycles, strengthens risk culture, and enables informed decision making through high quality assurance, challenge, and insight. The role spans two major initiatives: the strategic transformation of our core Platform and the execution of a large-scale platform migration. Both programmes are well underway and require focused risk oversight to ensure successful delivery and benefits realisation. This role will be on a fixed term contract basis until the end of 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Strategy & Planning
    • Translate enterprise risk appetite into practical guardrails for transformation initiatives.
    • Partner with Transformation Teams to embed risk criteria into stage gates and prioritisation decisions.
    • Challenge and oversight of control standards for change (e.g., assurance, testing governance, go/no go readiness).
  • Change Risk Identification & Assessment
    • Run structured assessments (e.g., risk heatmaps, dependency and critical path risk, third party risk).
    • Ensure material risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) are captured, owned, and actioned.
  • Assurance & Challenge
    • Perform independent reviews at key milestones (business case, design, test, implementation, post implementation).
    • Challenge plans, estimates, and readiness (e.g., resourcing, data migration, cutover plans).
    • Validate control design/effectiveness; escalate gaps and make practical recommendations.
  • Reporting & Insight
    • Produce clear, concise risk reporting for senior governance.
    • Ensure accurate aggregation of risk exposure and alignment to appetite and tolerances.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Culture
    • Build trusted relationships with Transformation Leads, PMO, Technology, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and HR.
    • Coach delivery teams to improve risk mindset, transparency, and quality of RAID management.
    • Promote a speak up culture and constructive challenge to avoid optimism bias and delivery drift.
