We are working exclusively with a Boutique IFA based in The City who are looking to bring on an experienced Paraplanner. The firm specialises in working with HNW past and present legal professionals and has an average client size of around £4 million. Due to the nature of the clients, you will be involved in a wide range of cases including complex tax and trust planning. The firm uses an interesting mix of traditional financial planning and institutional investment techniques to create client portfolios that are predominantly passive.

Key duties of the Paraplanner:

  • Preparing documentation for client review meetings
  • Attending and minuting client and prospect meetings
  • Production of Suitability Reports for existing clients covering for example, pension draw and contributions, pension transfers, fund switches, bond assignments and surrenders. There is also occasionally a need to recommend protection products.
  • Producing full planning reports for new clients.
  • Investment strategy and risk approach is arrived at through the use of our proprietary investment modelling which shows outcomes as real (after inflation) annual spending amounts within a range. Altering the risk approach changes the range of outcomes.
  • Liaising with our Investment Team to communicate changes to client plans which impact on the investment strategy.
  • In time, for the right candidate, there is likely to be the opportunity to look after a number of their own clients.
