About the Role

The opportunity: We’re looking for 2 Product Managers to join our team, to own and drive key parts of our mission. The Product team defines and delivers customer focused propositions for Wealth Wizards and their clients, balancing customer needs, commercial goals with regulatory requirements. We use data and insight to prioritise, iterate, and improve - working cross functionally to create digital or hybrid journeys that build customer understanding, confidence, and action.

As a Product Manager, you will co-lead one of our cross-functional development teams (either for our Property Wealth or Connected Help Proposition) and will be responsible for your product and implementation of the overall product vision and strategy. Our cross-functional teams build, refine and support a set of products and services that help our clients and their customers to better understand their finances and to make better more informed decisions around their money. We work autonomously but collaboratively to solve problems for each other and our users - prioritising small and iterative developments over large, complicated projects.

Both roles share a mission of helping customers make better financial decisions for their retirement, delivering on our mission of making financial advice and guidance more accessible and affordable. Our new Property Wealth Product Manager will be responsible for managing the design, build and optimisation of a key element of our new Property Wealth digital product set, working with Royal London Equity Release Advisers. It plays a key role in supporting colleagues to deliver a more scalable and remote-led advice service, delivering on our mission of making property wealth planning a mainstream part of retirement planning. Our new Connected Help Proposition Product Manager will be responsible for managing the design, build and optimisation of new digital-first journeys to help Royal London deliver their vision of giving every customer a retirement plan – connecting planning tools, financial coaching and advice journeys together in a way that helps customers to make a plan and take action on it.

About you: You’re already an experienced Product Manager / Owner and you’ll know how to work in a cross-functional team and as trio with engineering and design. You’re proactive, responsible and have excellent attention to detail. You obsess about your understanding of your customer and your team’s output (ensuring everything is usable, accessible and useful). You’re curious about why things happen and how things work, experienced using data to benchmark and measure your product’s performance and evidence good outcomes. As we operate in a regulated sector, we take standards seriously. The work matters, and so does how we go about it. We’re a team of capable and curious people who want to do meaningful work and make the experience better for customers, colleagues and each other. Strong technical ability is important, but it’s only part of what makes someone successful here. We’re interested in the person behind the CV. Their judgement, their attitude, and the way they contribute to a team. We value people who bring something of themselves to the work. That means we’ll be looking for qualities like empathy, self-awareness, resilience, good judgement. People who can think clearly, work well with others and stay constructive when things are complex or challenging. Ideally, you’ll already operate in a financial service context, so you’ll understand the dynamics of the industry and the regulatory environment we operate in. It’s not essential, but very desirable if you have relevant domain knowledge - experience in fintech within an Advice / Guidance, Lending or Equity Release context, or have worked on Colleague focused journeys or platforms that support regulated processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Shape the product strategy and roadmap for the product/s within your boundary.
  • Property Wealth - Support the build out of our Property Wealth product set, focusing on the colleague platform that enables the delivery of a scalable and remote-first service.
  • Connected Help Proposition - Deeply understand the Help Proposition customer needs and own product discovery for your Help Proposition journey.
  • Strong product craft: Brings structure, pace and judgement to product work; deeply understands the customer, UX and business problems, uses evidence to make trade-offs, shapes clear outcomes and turns ambiguity into focused, deliverable increments.
  • Translate customer insight into actionable improvements: Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify customer friction, unmet needs, and behavioural patterns. Using data to drive your decisions and recommendations. Derive key insights and patterns from customer testing to provide insightful recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Own and prioritise an outcome-focused backlog: Know how to manage and prioritise opportunities and solve problems in a flexible way. Maintain a backlog driven by customer outcomes, regulatory requirements, and overall vision direction.
  • Lead clear, insight-driven communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, translating data and customer insight into clear narratives, trade-offs, insights and recommendations. Capable written and credible verbal communicator internally and externally - confident to tell the story about your product to build advocacy and momentum, adapting styles to different audiences.
  • Align stakeholders around customer outcomes: Build strong relationships across Product / Proposition, Compliance, Design and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on priorities, especially where customer, regulatory and business objectives intersect. Skilled in analysing and breaking problems down in order to arrive at the minimum viable product.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness and leadership maturity, understanding how your interactions impact others: Proactively manage stakeholder dynamics and foster a collaborative, outcome-focused environment. Exercises sound judgement in balancing customer, commercial and technical priorities, while building effective relationships with stakeholders to align teams, resolve trade-offs and drive successful product outcomes.
