The Opportunity
As a Route Sales Manager, you’ll own and develop a defined geographic territory while operating a fully stocked mobile store. This is a W-2 outside B2B sales position centered around face-to-face selling, cold calling, prospecting, product demonstrations, and relationship development.
Rather than waiting for customers to come to you, you bring the store directly to them.
What You’ll Do
- Build Your Territory: Identify and develop new business through cold calling, referrals, research, and prospecting businesses near existing customers.
- Sell Face-to-Face: Make daily in-person calls on both new prospects and established customers.
- Demonstrate Solutions: Present industrial products using samples, product demonstrations, and your fully stocked mobile store.
- Grow Customer Relationships: Understand customer needs and become a trusted resource for their industrial hardware requirements.
- Operate Your Mobile Store: Maintain the organization, cleanliness, functionality, marketing, and overall presentation of your vehicle.
- Manage Your Business: Maintain accurate customer information, prospecting notes, sales activity, orders, and daily business reports using company software.
- Own Your Results: Independently manage your territory, priorities, customer relationships, and sales goals.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Outside B2B sales experience strongly preferred.
- Industrial, route, territory, or mobile sales experience is highly desirable.
- Proven success with prospecting, cold calling, relationship building, and achieving sales goals.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable using databases, spreadsheets, email, and standard business applications.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Clean driving history.
- Ability to regularly kneel and bend to floor level while operating the mobile store.
Important Requirements
To be considered, candidates must:
- Currently live within the assigned sales territory. Relocation is not available.
- Have a stable employment history, ideally with no more than three companies during the past 10 years.
- Be financially able and willing to purchase or lease an approved mobile store vehicle.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record and meet the physical requirements of the position.
