Are you an enthusiastic and conscientious person looking to make a difference to help reduce our impact on our environment whilst delivering essential services to our residents?
Who?
We are looking for a dynamic individual to provide administrative support to the Waste and Street Scene Team. With a keen interest in Waste Management including waste prevention, minimisation and managing waste collections, to help deliver a variety of waste services to over 76,000 properties in Wealden.
Furthermore, with the introduction of food waste collections in Spring 26, support is required within the Waste Team to deal with an increase in enquiries relating to the delivery of food waste containers and collections which are due to start around April 26.
What will you be doing?
- Working within the Waste and Street Scene Team to develop and deliver the Council’s overall approach to waste management and street cleansing.
- Working closely with our Customer Services Team to provide support on all aspects of waste collections.
- Dealing with enquiries received via email/letter, phone and face to face, including requests for additional services such as clinical, waste, additional capacity and assisted collections.
- Also responsible for approving requests for waste containers, including the exchange or repair of damaged bins.
What do you need?
- Ideally you will have good track record in providing a high-quality customer service whilst working in partnership with external companies and other stakeholders.
- You will have excellent ICT skills, well developed numerical skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to manage your own workload.
- You should be calm and unflappable with the energy, drive, and determination to get the job done.
