The Development Management Team are responsible for the Council's role as local planning authority, specifically that in relation to planning application, enforcement and related matters. This role is to provide technical and administrative support to our built and natural environment specialists. Amongst other work, those specialist officers help with the progress of planning case work relating to a range of issues, including but not limited to flooding, heritage, trees and ecology. Supporting the team contributes to an overall effective and efficient delivery of the Council's development management function. What will the role involve? The role is a central coordination and administrative support position that enables the team to deliver its specialist built and natural environment functions efficiently and effectively.
Are you a highly organised person who takes pride in providing administrative support that keeps complex planning and development work moving forward?, The successful candidate will have experience providing administrative and technical support within a team environment, ideally with some exposure to planning, local government, or built and natural environment matters. They will be confident in dealing with customers and members of the public and have an understanding of performance monitoring and local authority processes. The role requires a self-motivated and organised individual who can manage their own workload while working effectively as part of a team. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, alongside good ICT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications. A friendly, approachable manner and a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to team objectives are important.
