Adult Skills Tutor

At the Workers\\\’ Educational Association (WEA), we believe learning should be available to everyone. As the UK\\\’s largest voluntary sector adult learning provider, we bring life-changing learning into the heart of communities – and we need great tutors to help us do it.
Responsibilities
As a WEA Tutor, you will provide the highest possible quality teaching and learning to a group of learners. You will provide engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach to teaching, adapting to a range of learning styles, and ability to differentiate delivery to learners with mixed abilities to develop learners knowledge and understanding.
Undertaking effective initial assessments and diagnostic activities and preparing course materials, ensuring a wide range of formative and summative assessment practices, which motivates and stretches learners to reach their objectives.
Qualifications
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, DET, AET Level 3 minimum)
- A Level 5 subject specialism for accredited provision (ideal, but not essential)
- Confidence using diagnostic assessments and planning learner journeys
- Experience working with adults, especially those who may face barriers to learning
- A collaborative attitude and a real passion for lifelong learning
- Familiarity with RARPA and OFSTED\’s Education Inspection Framework is a plus
