About the role
This role is key to developing our membership scheme during a pivotal time, with membership becoming central to our strategy. You will implement strategies to attract, retain, and engage paying members across departments, focusing on building a strong membership base, enhancing member experience, and maximizing income. You will create membership materials, improve communications, and report on membership metrics and feedback. Strong project management, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills are essential, working with our audience and operational teams. This role is part of our Audience team, which includes marketing, PR & communications, graphic design, and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Project management: Lead cross-departmental membership projects and own project tools. Oversee recruitment, renewal, and engagement strategies.
- Collaboration: Work with teams to ensure membership activities are well documented, delivered on time, and within budget.
- Evaluation and reporting: Develop tools with our Business Analyst to monitor metrics and feedback, and report insights regularly.
- Operational support: Understand membership processes (sales, Direct Debits, renewals) to support teams and identify risks and opportunities.
- Research & engagement: Collaborate with marketing to develop audience-led approaches, connecting with members and non-members to gather feedback.
- Communications & marketing: Improve online and offline user journeys, email communications, and develop marketing materials to attract new members.
- Messaging & staff briefing: Ensure operational teams are briefed on membership messaging, tone, and approach.
- Advocacy: Represent and champion membership within and outside the organization, working to reposition its importance.
General responsibilities
