WE Talent are currently working with a business based in Thurrock who are looking for a Procurement and Contracts Manager.

This role is full time 37 hours a week, remote working on a Friday.

As the Procurement and Contracts manager you will ideally come from a Public Sector background. You will oversee the maintenance of the procurement system, where you will develop and implement the Procurement Strategy in-line with business.

Key duties of the role include;

  • To obtain maximum value from frameworks and from the relationship with external organisations.

  • Lead procurement and contracts process improvements.

  • Facilitate the tendering of contracts to ensure compliance with legislation as well as financial regulations. Ensure that the required number of quotes are obtained / attached to the requisition, in order to comply with financial regulations.

  • Manage and build relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Supplier base management, including compliance with the Modern Slavery Act

  • Providing reporting & Business Partnering to the wider business, including issuing supplier spend reports and identifying / following up on opportunities for cost savings

  • To develop the Service Level Agreement for the Procurement function and monitor the performance against this.

  • Preparing and ensuring internal processes are reviewed and updated to be ready for the go-live of the new procurement act

  • Experience in a similar role within the public sector is essential.

  • CIPS/MCIPS would be highly advantageous.

  • Sufficient knowledge and aptitude to create new procedures and working practices and develop future strategy is required.

  • Knowledge of project management techniques would be advantageous.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong Supplier Relationship skills, with experience in contract management and writing.
