At WE Talent we’re supporting our client, a national regulatory body, to appoint a Governance & Hearings Manager. This is a unique and highly responsible role for someone who has experience in:

  • Hearings, tribunals or panel administration, or
  • Committee/Board secretariat and governance, or
  • Data protection and information governance (coupled with the above)

You’ll play a key part in ensuring disciplinary hearings, Council/Committee meetings, and governance processes run smoothly, professionally, and lawfully.

This position would suit someone with strong organisational ability, excellent written skills, and confidence working independently with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hearings & Panel Support
    • Coordinate the scheduling, logistics and administration of disciplinary hearings.
    • Support the independent Panel Chair with timetabling and case progression.
    • Provide clear guidance to parties involved in hearings (respondents, witnesses, representatives).
    • Manage arrangements for in-person, hybrid and online hearings, including venues, transcripts, recordings and breakout rooms.
    • Ensure hearing papers are prepared and circulated accurately and on time.
    • Publish hearing outcomes and ensure internal registers and records remain accurate.
  • Governance & Committee Support
    • Provide administrative and governance support to the Council, Committees and Senior Management Team.
    • Prepare agendas, papers and briefing packs in line with meeting timelines.
    • Attend meetings, draft minutes, track actions and ensure follow-up is completed.
    • Manage complex diaries and coordinate meetings, visits and events.
    • Draft responses to correspondence and assist with internal governance processes.
  • Data Protection & Information Governance
    • Coordinate responses to Subject Access Requests and information enquiries within statutory deadlines.
    • Support the maintenance of data protection policies and procedures.
    • Work with internal teams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Panel/tribunal/hearings/adjudication administration OR committee/board secretariat work
  • Governance or rules-based processes
  • Data protection or information governance (data protection qualification a bonus)
  • Experience working independently with senior stakeholders

Key Skills

  • Excellent written communication (report writing, minute taking)
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Confident working autonomously and managing complex workloads
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive or pressured situations
  • Sound judgement and discretion with confidential information
  • Collaborative and able to work well with non-executives

This is a very autonomous role and whilst you’ll have touchpoints with all areas of the organisation - internal and external stakeholders, you should be confident managing your own workload and have a flexible, team-minded approach.

Full time / permanent / hybrid - you must be able to travel into London 1-2 days a week and more to start.
