WE Talent are proud to be partnering with a fast-growing entrepreneurial business who are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to join their commercial team. This is a consultative, commercially focused client facing role where you will take ownership of incoming opportunities, working with a mix of existing, lapsed and new clients to convert enquiries into long-term business. This role sits between sales, account management and estimating - ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing opportunities over time, and playing an active role in winning and growing business.
The role includes:
- Managing incoming enquiries and warm leads via phone, email, and online platforms
- Taking ownership of a portfolio of existing, lapsed and new clients
- Managing sales opportunities ranging from £50k to £1m
- Proactively developing relationships to win new business and grow existing accounts
- Delivering presentations to introduce the business and its offering
- Meeting clients both virtually and face-to-face across the UK (potential for overseas travel)
- Attending client meetings regularly (typically several times per month, up to once or twice per week depending on projects)
- Understanding client requirements and identifying commercial opportunities
- Producing and supporting quotations and estimates alongside internal teams
- Liaising closely with design, operations, and wider commercial teams
- Managing, reviewing and progressing quotes through to conversion
- Re-pricing and refining proposals where required
- Maintaining CRM accuracy and pipeline visibility
- Supporting tenders, proposals, and client presentations
- Contributing to long-term account growth and retention
About you:
- Experienced in B2B sales, account management, or client relationship roles
- Comfortable working in a technical, construction, engineering or manufacturing environment
- Commercially minded, with a natural ability to spot opportunities and convert business
- Confident building relationships both remotely and face-to-face across the UK
- Proactive and driven, with a strong sense of ownership over your pipeline
- Organised and detail-focused, able to manage multiple opportunities at different stages
- Confident using Excel and CRM systems
- Able to interpret or work alongside technical / site / CAD drawings (desirable, not essential)
- A collaborative team player who works well across departments
- A full UK driving licence is required.
