WE Talent is working with a well-established, family-run engineering business based on the outskirts of Colchester, who are looking to appoint a HSEQ Coordinator to support the delivery of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental activities across the business.
Reporting into the HSEQ Manager, this is a hands-on role offering excellent exposure across QHSE, ideal for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive and structured engineering environment.
The Role
As HSEQ Coordinator, you will work closely with the HSEQ Manager and wider business to ensure systems, processes and compliance standards are maintained and continuously improved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the maintenance and improvement of the Integrated Management System (ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001)
- Assisting with internal audits and preparation for external ISO, Achilles and customer audits
- Maintaining QHSE documentation, procedures and records, ensuring they are current and compliant
- Supporting risk assessments, method statements and H&S documentation across the business
- Assisting with supplier and subcontractor compliance and audit preparation
- Supporting investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Carrying out quality inspections during production and prior to dispatch where required
- Inspecting incoming goods to ensure specifications and quality standards are met
- Liaising with internal departments to support best practice and compliance
- Assisting with KPI monitoring and reporting
- Providing general HSEQ administrative and coordination support to the HSEQ Manager
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Quality, Health & Safety or Environmental role
- Exposure to ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO45001 and/or ISO14001)
- Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- A proactive and organised approach with good attention to detail
- The ability to work well as part of a team and take direction, while also using initiative
- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
- A customer-focused mindset
- Own transport (due to location)
Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or Quality-related training would be advantageous but are not essential.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (1-hour lunch break)
- Fully site-based
