WE Talent are hiring for our client, a specialist engineering and installation business operating within the infrastructure and renewable energy space. The organisation supports complex, safety-critical projects across the UK and internationally, where quality, process and credibility are paramount. As the business continues to grow, marketing and PR are being brought closer to the operational core of the organisation, with a clear focus on consistency, visibility and professional representation.
We are looking for a part-time Marketing & PR Manager to take ownership of marketing coordination, PR activity, and personal brand promotion for the Managing Director. This role is centred on momentum, follow-through, and visibility. It is about turning ideas into action, keeping marketing moving, and ensuring the business and its leadership are consistently and professionally represented.
Key Responsibilities:- Marketing & PR Coordination
- Plan and organise monthly social media content in advance
- Hold weekly or fortnightly planning sessions with the Managing Director
- Coordinate with the Northern office and external marketing partners for company social posting and campaigns
- Maintain momentum across all marketing activity and ensure actions are followed through
- Content & Messaging
- Support the creation of written content for:
- Social posts
- Articles
- Website updates (Photography and video will be provided internally)
- Third-party partners may assist with content production; this role ensures:
- The right message
- The right tone
- Strong attention to detail
- An eye for how content should read and land is essential, even if content creation is supported externally
- Website Development & Ongoing Improvement
- Work closely with external website development teams to support ongoing updates, improvements, and new content
- Focus will be on ensuring the installation side of the business is accurately represented, clearly communicated, and consistently developed across relevant website pages
- This role will help coordinate content, structure, and priorities
- PR & Personal Brand Management
- Actively manage the Managing Director’s personal social media accounts, including:
- Posting content
- Connecting with relevant people
- Commenting and engaging in industry discussions
- Identify and organise:
- Speaking opportunities
- Industry events
- Podcasts and media appearances
- Work closely with the Managing Director on personal PR and brand strategy
- Reporting & Performance Review
- Review and analyse reports from external marketing agencies covering:
- Google Ads
- LinkedIn campaigns
- Facebook campaigns
- Assess performance and discuss where spend should increase or decrease
- International Awareness
- Support marketing and PR activity with an international outlook, helping position the business and the Managing Director beyond the UK
- Experience with international audiences (e.g. Europe, Australia, Asia) is beneficial, though travel is not essential
- Experienced in Marketing/PR/Communications ideally in a growing SME environment
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working closely with a business owner
- Confident engaging publicly and professionally
- Proactive, reliable, and outcome-focused
- Curious enough to understand a technical, construction-led business
- Experience with AI tools for marketing or content is desirable
- Construction/engineering sector experience is desirable
- Part-time: Monday to Friday, approximately 9:00am – 3:00pm (open to discuss)
- Hybrid working: 2 days from home, 3 days based at the Chelmsford office
- Some flexibility required for meetings, planning sessions, and activity
- UK travel to support PR, events, or marketing activity (approximately once a month which could be overnight)
This role includes a structured and hands-on induction process to ensure a full understanding of the business. The successful candidate will complete a health and safety induction to understand construction and site safety. During onboarding, the candidate will spend time:
- On live sites with the Managing Director
- Visiting the Northern depot
- Site visits
- Internal activities
- Shadowing and learning how the business operates
