Location: Braintree, Essex Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm Working Week: 40 hours We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Administrator to join an established engineering and technical business based in Braintree. This is a varied role combining commercial administration, customer service, coordination and technical support, working closely with internal Engineering, Purchasing, Planning and Sales teams. You will play an important role in ensuring customer requirements are managed efficiently from initial enquiry through to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience working within an engineering, manufacturing, technical or similarly structured environment, with the confidence to liaise with both customers and technical teams. The Role You will be responsible for managing and coordinating a range of customer and commercial processes, ensuring work is progressed accurately and to agreed deadlines. Key responsibilities will include: * Liaising regularly with customers and external partners to manage, track and progress maintenance and repair requirements. * Coordinating with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning and Sales teams to ensure orders and projects progress smoothly. * Monitoring potential supply issues, including shortages or delays, and working with internal teams to resolve them. * Accurately maintaining information across internal systems and databases. * Preparing and producing customer quotations in line with agreed margins and pricing structures. * Researching costs for parts, materials and labour to support accurate estimates. * Responding to customer queries and resolving any issues in a professional and timely manner. * Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes, quality of service and overall productivity. * Maintaining strong relationships with internal technical teams, buyers, sales colleagues and external customers. * Providing general administrative support across the wider commercial team, including holiday cover where required. * Handling incoming telephone calls and customer enquiries. * Ensuring relevant company documentation and information is kept accurate and up to date. * Supporting the wider team with day-to-day coordination and administration. About You We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and comfortable working in a technical environment. You may already be working in a commercial, customer service, sales administration or coordination role within an engineering or manufacturing business, or you may have a technical background and be looking to develop further into a commercial position. You'll ideally have: * Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, technical or similar environment. * Strong administrative and organisational skills. * Experience coordinating workloads, orders, projects or customer requirements. * Good attention to detail and accuracy when working with information and costs. * Confident communication skills, both written and verbal. * The ability to liaise effectively with customers and internal technical teams. * Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions. * The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. * Good IT skills and confidence using databases and business systems. * A persistent and thorough approach when gathering information and obtaining accurate costs.
