Permanent SEN Teaching Assistant – Broxbourne, Hertfordshire

Contract: Permanent | Term-Time Only

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:45pm (34 hours per week)

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key part in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where no two days are the same.

You will:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups in line with individual learning plans
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Encourage independence, communication, and positive behaviour
  • Support emotional regulation and sensory needs
  • Provide personal care where required (full training provided)
  • Help maintain an organised and structured classroom environment
  • Record observations and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and wider school activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
