Due to continued growth and a significant project appointment, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced H&S Site Inspector/ H&S Consultant to support a major renewables project based in Bangor, North Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident CDM professional to play a key role on a high-profile energy and infrastructure scheme, working closely with clients, designers, contractors and wider project teams to ensure CDM compliance and effective design risk management from the earliest stages of the project.
The consultancy works across a diverse range of sectors including energy, infrastructure, aviation, residential, commercial, industrial and retail. They combine strong technical expertise with a personable, responsive approach, helping clients confidently navigate regulatory requirements and deliver complex projects safely and effectively.
The Role
As Site Inspector/ H&S Consultant, you will support the delivery of CDM 2015 duties across a major renewables project, ensuring health and safety risk management is embedded throughout the design, pre-construction and construction phases. You will work as a key point of contact for clients and project teams, providing clear, pragmatic and technically sound advice. The role will involve attending meetings, reviewing project information, carrying out site inspections and ensuring all duty holders understand and fulfil their responsibilities under CDM 2015.
This position would suit someone who enjoys working on complex, high-profile projects and can confidently engage with clients, contractors, designers and stakeholders in a collaborative and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with clients, designers, contractors and principal contractors.
- Review and compile Pre-Construction Information.
- Review Construction Phase Plans, RAMS and project safety documentation.
- Attend design team meetings, risk reviews and project coordination meetings.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Provide clear, practical CDM and health and safety advice to project teams.
- Ensure project teams are aware of key risks and that appropriate control measures are in place.
- Support compliance with CDM 2015, relevant legislation and industry best practice.
- Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Produce clear reports, recommendations and action plans where required.
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced Site Inspector/ Health & Safety Consultant or construction safety professional with a strong understanding of CDM 2015 and design risk management. You will be confident working with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, with the ability to provide practical advice in a clear and professional manner.
Ideally, you will have:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate/ NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
- Experience delivering CDM Advisor services.
- Previous experience carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Experience reviewing RAMS, Construction Phase Plans and safety documentation.
- Proven background in design risk management and project coordination.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive client and project team relationships.
- Full UK driving licence.
- IOSH or APS membership would be beneficial.
- Experience within energy, infrastructure or renewables projects would be highly desirable.
