We Recruit Group has an exclusive CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer opportunity with a small independent property & construction consultancy based in Sheffield. Our client is a close-knit construction consultancy that provides professional support to clients across the built environment. With a team of 10 people, the business offers a genuinely supportive environment where you will not feel like just another number. You will work closely with senior colleagues, receive hands-on guidance and have the opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth of their CDM and Principal Designer service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Health & Safety, CDM or design/construction professional who is looking to develop their career within a business that can offer proper training, direct exposure to clients and a clear route for progression.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of CDM 2015 Principal Designer duties across a range of construction projects, working closely with clients, designers, contractors and wider project teams to ensure risks are identified, managed and communicated effectively throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.
The Role
- Delivering CDM Advisor and Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015
- Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Reviewing and preparing Pre-Construction Information
- Reviewing Construction Phase Plans, RAMS and project safety documentation
- Attending design team meetings and design risk reviews
- Supporting the management of design risk registers
- Liaising with clients, architects, designers, contractors and principal contractors
- Providing practical CDM and health & safety advice throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting project teams in identifying risks and implementing suitable control measures
- Helping to develop existing client relationships and support the growth of the service
About You
Our client is open-minded on background and are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, communication style and desire to develop. You may already be working as a CDM Consultant, Principal Designer, Health & Safety Advisor, Assistant CDM Consultant or construction professional looking to move further into CDM advisory work.
Ideally, you will have:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate/ NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- A good understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations
- Experience carrying out site inspections, audits or risk assessments
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with clients and project teams
- A proactive, organised and practical approach to health and safety
- Full UK driving licence
- IOSH or APS membership would be beneficial, although not essential
- ISO Management experience would also be a bonus but not essential
