Our client was established in 2001 and has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality consultancy services across a broad range of sectors, supporting clients through the full project lifecycle while ensuring safety, compliance, and commercial success.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint a H&S/ CDM Consultant to join their team based in Wakefield or Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety/ CDM professional looking to join a supportive consultancy environment where you will work on a varied portfolio of projects across sectors including commercial, residential, retail, education, leisure, and mixed-use developments.
You will work closely with clients, designers, contractors, and internal project teams to deliver CDM consultancy and Principal Designer services across both pre-construction and delivery phases. This role would suit someone from either a consultancy or contractor background who enjoys client-facing work, wants greater project ownership, and is looking to develop their career within a business known for long-term progression and technical excellence.
As CDM Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting clients in meeting their duties under the CDM Regulations 2015 and ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering CDM and Principal Designer services across a varied project portfolio
- Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information
- Managing design risk registers and attending design risk review meetings
- Advising clients and design teams on their duties under CDM 2015
- Supporting safe design principles throughout project lifecycles
- Preparing Health & Safety files and Construction Phase Plans where required
- Carrying out site inspections and reviewing RAMS
- Liaising with contractors, architects, developers, and key stakeholders
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships across existing and new accounts
What We're Looking For:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
- Previous experience in a CDM Consultant, Principal Designer, Health & Safety Advisor, or similar role
- Membership of IOSH, APS, or similar professional body (desirable)
- Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable)
- Scaffold Inspector Cert (desirable)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety
- Full UK driving licence
