We are a well-established, medium-sized main contractor based in Cambridgeshire, delivering high-quality commercial and industrial construction projects across the East of England.

Our reputation has been built on quality, reliability, and long-term client relationships.

Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of commercial and industrial developments, including steel-framed warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing buildings.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Projects typically range from £2m to £20m and include industrial units, distribution warehouses, commercial buildings, and associated infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects from mobilisation through to handover.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks and programme challenges.
  • Chair client and site meetings, providing regular progress updates.
  • Manage project costs, variations, procurement, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual requirements and company standards.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of projects and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager working for a UK main contractor.
  • Experience delivering commercial and industrial construction projects, particularly steel frame buildings or warehouse developments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and project planning.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and subcontractors effectively.
  • Commercial awareness and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid qualification.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, or similar planning software.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts.
