Role: Safety, Risk and Compliance Manager Location: Milton Keynes – projects across the region Salary: Up to £50,000 - £55,000 + £4,800 car allowance Sector: Property & Construction WRG is representing a leading risk management and health & safety consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Risk Manager to join its Health & Safety Consultancy team. This is a predominantly field-based role, covering Milton Keynes and the surrounding region, where you will manage your own portfolio of commercial clients and provide practical and focused health & safety advice. The role would suit an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong understanding of risk management who enjoys working directly with clients and wants the autonomy of managing their own regional portfolio. The Role You will undertake health & safety surveys, inspections and risk assessments across a broad range of commercial and industrial environments. Working as a trusted adviser, you will identify areas of risk, provide pragmatic recommendations and support clients in improving their health & safety standards and overall risk management performance. You will also work closely with clients, brokers, insurers and underwriters, helping communicate risk findings and recommendations and supporting positive insurance outcomes. Key Responsibilities Conduct health & safety surveys, inspections and risk assessments across client sites. Identify operational, regulatory and health & safety risks. Produce practical risk improvement recommendations. Prepare clear and professional survey reports. Manage and develop an allocated portfolio of clients. Act as a trusted adviser to clients on health & safety and risk management. Liaise with insurers, brokers and underwriters regarding survey findings. Advise clients on legal obligations and industry best practice. Monitor agreed risk improvement actions and provide follow-up support. Manage your own diary, workload and regional travel. Maintain accurate client records and documentation. Keep up to date with UK health & safety legislation and industry developments. About You You will have experience undertaking health & safety inspections, audits, surveys or risk assessments, combined with strong practical knowledge of UK health & safety legislation. You should be confident working directly with clients and able to translate technical findings into clear, practical and commercially focused recommendations. Experience within consultancy, advisory or operational environments would be beneficial. Experience in the following sectors would be advantageous: Manufacturing Logistics & Warehousing Engineering Construction Automotive Retail Industrial / Commercial environments Experience with accident investigations, RAMS, risk assessments or safety management systems would also be beneficial. Qualifications Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health & safety qualification. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ Diploma or equivalent. CMIOSH or working towards Chartered status. Additional specialist health & safety or risk management qualifications . Key Skills Strong health & safety auditing and inspection skills. Good understanding of risk assessment methodology. Strong report writing and technical documentation. Current knowledge of UK health & safety legislation. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Commercial and pragmatic approach to risk. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organisation and diary management. Professional, client-focused approach. High attention to detail. Package & Development The role offers a structured development programme, including: Starting salary in the region of £50,000 - £55,000. £4,800 car allowance. 5% pension contribution.
