WRG is proud to be supporting one of the UKs leading residential developers, our client designs, builds, regenerates and refurbishes communities across England, Scotland and Wales. The business has several key areas, including new home and mixed developments, partnership housing working closely with councils and local authorities, regeneration and retrofit, and later living. They have been operating for over 50 years and have developed an excellent reputation across the sector, approaching construction with innovation, eco-friendly building methods, and pioneering environmental initiatives.
They are looking to appoint a Regional SHEQ Manager to oversee traditional build housing projects across North Yorkshire up to Northumberland. The business has 12 sites which will be up and running in the next 6 to 18 months and is looking for an experienced and competent safety professional, ideally from a housing developer background, to join the team and oversee safety across these sites. The role would suit an experienced H&S professional who is familiar with construction or housing development projects, who strives for continual improvement and is passionate about site safety.
Duties:
- Offer a variety of health & safety/ CDM compliance services for the various sites.
- Familiar with all associated documentation relating to CDM 2015 e.g. Construction Phase Plans.
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation while promoting best practice.
- Liaise with various stakeholders on projects - client, designers, architects, local authority, HSE etc. and keep them updated in relation to H&S/ CDM matters.
- Attend site meetings and keep site team updated in relation to H&S matters and concerns.
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure method statements are in place for each project.
- Carry out site inspections and accident investigations when required.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, producing reports and recommendations.
- Promote best practice and continuous improvement across SHEQ performance.
- Deliver toolbox talks and support site-based training where required.
- Ensure quality procedures and processes to support ISO certification.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of company SHEQ policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Fire or NEBOSH Environmental (desirable).
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- Experience of working with an integrated management system (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards).
- Member to IOSH, APS, IIRSM, IEMA or a similar professional body.
- Excellent working knowledge of 2015 CDM Regulations.
- Previous experience working for a main contractor or residential developer.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Full UK driving license.
