WRG is working with a newly established CDM and Building Safety Consultancy that operates across the North East of England. The business was established at the end of 2024 by two CDM/ Building Safety professionals to deliver a bespoke service to clients across the property & construction industry with a real focus on quality of service and collaboration.
The business has grown to a size where they can appoint a Trainee H&S/ CDM Consultant to support with some of their smaller projects, whilst also being exposed to some of the large and more complex schemes. The business operates across multiple sectors, predominantly within the residential (public & private sector), industrial, office, retail, healthcare, public sector, education, and leisure sectors.
The role would suit a young and ambitious H&S/ CDM professional from a consultancy or contractor background who feels that their progress is currently stalled or a junior professional who is looking to get their foot in the door and start out in the industry. They will offer support and training for you to achieve success.
Responsibilities (full training would be provided):
- Assisting with the delivery of CDM Advisor / Principal Designer duties.
- Supporting the preparation of pre-construction information and H&S files.
- Reviewing design risk assessments and method statements.
- Attending design team meetings and site visits (with support).
- Assisting with risk identification and mitigation during the design and construction phases.
- Liaising with clients, designers and contractors under supervision.
Requirements:
- Although qualifications are important within the industry, our client is looking for someone with brilliant soft skills, someone who is a great communicator, team player, enthusiastic, organised and keen to learn.
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (desirable).
- Membership to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or similar professional body (desirable).
- Basic understanding of 2015 CDM Regulations (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge around BSA and the changes affecting the industry (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience within the construction industry would be a bonus.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
