Consistently ranked among the top 20 construction consultancies to work for in the UK, our client employs more than 1,500 professionals across 16 offices nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Health & Safety/ CDM professional to join their expanding team based in Reading, overseeing projects across the surrounding region and into London. The Safety, Risk and Compliance team currently comprises of 40 consultants and continues to grow, with plans to increase to 45 by Spring and 50 nationally by year-end. It is one of the consultancys leading service lines, recognised internally for its collaborative culture, technical excellence, and supportive working environment. The team is now looking to appoint an ambitious and motivated safety professional who is keen to develop their career within a progressive and well-established business. The project portfolio is both extensive and diverse, including flagship regional schemes and an enviable client base. The team works across housing associations, higher education, motorsport, retail, leisure, industrial, commercial, and mixed-use developments, providing broad sector exposure and genuine project variety. This role would suit a construction Health & Safety professional from either a consultancy or contractor background who feels their career progression has plateaued. Our client has a strong track record of developing talent, with many team members achieving promotion to senior positions within their first year. Responsibilities: Deliver various H&S services to ensure H&S and CDM compliance on construction projects. Ensure that pre-construction information is readily available for each project and is kept up to date. Preparation of health and safety files and construction phase plans where required. Ensure the design risk register is updated on a regular basis and managed throughout the project life cycle. Attend client team meetings and offer advice in relation to safety in design. Carry out site inspections and ensure that RAMS are in place and updated on a regular basis. Further build and develop existing client relationships and develop new ones. Liaise with various stakeholders (architects, contractors, developers, designers, client) and keep them informed of changes regarding safety. Requirements: NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not required). Membership to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or similar professional body (desirable). Excellent understanding of 2015 CDM Regulations. Good understanding of BSA and the changes affecting the industry (desirable). Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Full UK driving license.
