WRG has partnered with an independent CDM/ Principal Designer consultancy, looking to appoint an experienced building control surveyor or registered building inspector to deliver the Building Regs PD service to clients. The business operates across London & South East, working with a range of clients and delivering a CDM/ PD service on projects from £300k up to £500m. They have developed an excellent reputation within the industry which has led to repeat business and their brand growing from strength to strength.

The role has been created due to changes in the industry related to the Building Safety Act, and the business wanting to integrate their PD and BSA service offering to help clients navigate these changes and ensure that building regs and BSA compliance is achieved. The role would suit client-facing, commercially minded and driven individuals who want to grow a business during an exciting time in the sector.

Duties:

  • Carry out building control inspections, site visits, surveys and prepare reports.
  • Offer advice around the Building Safety Act.
  • Liaise with Principal Designer, Principal Contractor, Architects, MEP, Fire Engineers, Design teams and other parties to ensure compliance on projects.
  • Undertake plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
  • Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the building process.
  • Attend client and design team meetings to offer professional input relating to building regs and BSA compliance.
  • Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.

Requirements:

  • Registered Building Inspector or working towards - open to class 1, 2 or 3.
  • Membership to RICS, CABE or CIOB.
  • Understanding of RIBA Framework.
  • Experience of inspecting buildings and properties.
  • Excellent knowledge of BSA, building regulations, codes and legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
