WRG is supporting one of the UKs leading independent real estate consultancies with the appointment of a Senior CDM Consultant to its growing London team. The business employs more than 500 surveyors, engineers, project managers, ESG consultants and technical specialists across the UK and Europe. It works with owners, occupiers, developers and funders throughout the property lifecycle, providing independent, practical advice across both the private and public sectors. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced CDM professional who would like to gain exposure to a varied portfolio of commercial property projects while learning from an experienced and supportive consultancy team.
The Role
You will support the delivery of Health & Safety and CDM services across offices, residential developments, retail properties and industrial buildings. Operating as Principal Designer, CDM Advisor and Advisor to the Principal Designer, you will work closely with clients, contractors and design teams to identify and manage foreseeable construction and design risks. The position offers hybrid working, with time split between home, the London office and project sites as required.
Duties Will Include:
- Delivering Principal Designer and CDM consultancy services under CDM 2015.
- Advising clients, designers and contractors on their statutory duties.
- Managing a range of Health & Safety and CDM commissions with support from senior colleagues.
- Reviewing design information and providing clear risk analysis.
- Supporting the preparation and review of Pre-Construction Information.
- Identifying foreseeable risks associated with the construction, use, maintenance and future alteration of buildings.
- Communicating design-risk information to clients and project teams.
- Undertaking construction-site Health & Safety inspections.
- Producing clear, professional reports and project documentation.
- Attending client, design-team and project meetings.
- Supporting the continued development of client relationships and the wider CDM service.
About You
This role would suit someone with approximately 3 - 5 years experience within CDM or construction Health & Safety. You may currently be working as CDM Consultant, Health & Safety Advisor, Principal Designer or construction-safety professional and now want to develop within a multidisciplinary property consultancy.
Requirements:
- Previous experience within a CDM, Principal Designer or construction Health & Safety position.
- Working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or a comparable qualification.
- An understanding of commercial construction projects and building services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence to communicate with clients, designers and contractors.
- A practical and proportionate approach to managing risk.
- Enthusiasm for continued professional development.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites.
