WRG has recently partnered with a Construction and Engineering consultancy that operate across the UK. The business is looking to hire an experienced and competent Building Safety Consultants or Building Regs Principal Designer to sit within their CDM/ Principal Designer team and work with a wide variety of clients across the built environment in the UK.

Our client oversees a diverse range of projects including; commercial, retail, office, leisure, hotel, industrial, manufacturing, sport and education sectors.

The role has been created off the back of the changes happening in the industry related to the Building Safety Act, and the business wanting to integrate their PD and Building Safety service offering to help its clients navigate these changes and ensure that building regs compliance is achieved.

The role would suit an Architect or Architectural Technologist with several years of experience in the sector offering their services to a range of clients and projects. Excellent interpersonal skills are required due to the client facing nature of the role. Our client is also happy to consider people who have not registered with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

Duties:

  • Offer advice around the Building Safety Act.
  • Liaise with Principal Designer, Principal Contractor, Architects and other parties to ensure buildings regulations compliance on projects.
  • Prepare & maintain project building regulations compliance tracker throughout the project.
  • Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the building process.
  • Attend client and design team meetings to offer professional input relation to building regs compliance.
  • Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management or similar discipline.
  • Membership to RICS, CABE, RIBA or CIAT.
  • Experience of inspecting buildings and properties.
  • Excellent knowledge of BSA, building regulations, codes and legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Registered through the BSR (desirable but not essential).
