Principal Designer Key Responsibilities Lead Principal Designer duties across a wide range of projects, from residential and commercial to public sector and education.
Apply expertise in building regulations to ensure compliance and influence design decisions.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams to integrate safety into project planning.
Assess design proposals and construction stages for compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
Provide expert guidance on regulatory frameworks, including the Building Safety Act, and monitor legislative changes.
Facilitate design team meetings, supporting safe and compliant design delivery.
Principal Designer Requirements Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Building Surveying, or related discipline.
Membership in RICS, RIBA, CIOB, CIAT, or a comparable professional body.
Proven experience in a Principal Designer role with substantial building regulations knowledge.
Strong familiarity with the Building Safety Act and relevant legislation.
