We Recruit Group is proud to be partnering with a highly respected, independent CDM/ Principal Designer consultancy that is entering an exciting phase of growth for 2026. With a strong reputation built over the last six years, this business has become a trusted partner across the property and construction sector, delivering expert CDM and Principal Designer services on projects ranging from £300k to £500m.
They are now looking to appoint an experienced CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects across London and the Home Counties. This is a fully remote position, offering genuine flexibility and autonomy, with monthly team meet-ups at their London HQ, giving you the best of both worlds, freedom to work independently, without losing the collaboration and support of a close-knit team.
You will work across a broad range of sectors including residential, commercial, retail, office, leisure, hotels, and heritage, supporting clients through the full design and delivery process while acting as a trusted advisor on all things CDM and Principal Designer related.
This role is ideal for a confident, client-facing consultant from a consultancy background who is looking for more trust, more autonomy, and better work-life balance, without compromising on project quality, technical challenge, or career progression.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a full range of CDM and Principal Designer services across a varied and high-profile project portfolio. Key duties include:
- Delivering CDM and Principal Designer services to a wide range of clients
- Managing design risk registers and leading design risk reviews
- Providing expert advice on Safety in Design throughout project lifecycles
- Ensuring pre-construction information is prepared, maintained, and up to date
- Attending design team and client meetings to provide practical CDM guidance
- Preparing Health & Safety files and Construction Phase Plans where required
- Carrying out site inspections and ensuring suitable RAMS are in place
- Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for further growth and repeat business
What We're Looking For
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- NEBOSH Diploma (desirable, not essential)
- Membership of IOSH, APS, IIRSM, or similar professional body
- APS 2-Day Principal Designer Course (or equivalent qualification)
- Strong working knowledge of the 2015 CDM Regulations
- Good understanding of the Building Safety Act and its impact on the industry
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A confident, professional, and solutions-focused approach
