Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our enthusiastic and curious learners. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide individualised support, and help create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere in our Early Years team and Pre-School.
Key Responsibilities:
- To have fun! To plan for children’s individual needs and record progress and development to ensure that children achieve their full potential. To be responsible for a key group of children and work in partnership with parents and carers. To be a positive role model to the children to ensure they thrive and develop within a nurturing environment. To have a good understanding and knowledge of the EYFS, child development and Ofsted requirements. To provide first hand opportunities, experiences and trips to explore the wider world. To spend time outdoors, exploring the natural world around them including access to our forest school area. To be responsible to our legal requirements to safeguard all children and complete relevant records and reports where necessary.
- Assist in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the diverse needs of pupils.
- Support pupils with their learning activities, ensuring they understand and complete tasks.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils who need extra help.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to monitor and assess pupil progress.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued.
Qualifications:
- A recognised Level 2 qualification (or higher) in childcare.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Basic knowledge of the Early Years curriculum.
- It is also desirable to hold a relevant Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

This position is for 2 days each week (Monday & Friday 6.5 hours per day) & will be a temporary contract until 31st August 2027
