The Federation of Abbey Infant and Junior School are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Lunch Time Supervisor. The successful candidate will be a dedicated person who will encourage and engage with the children.

Applicants will need to have the patience to work with young children, be able to work as part of a team and form positive relationships with adults and pupils. A willingness to organise games and activities in line with the school’s policy for enrichment activities is essential.

They will support the Principal Lunch Time Supervisor in the development and general management of the lunch time, ensuring that high standards are maintained. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivery of a range of stimulating activities, reflecting equality of opportunity and inclusive practice in line with the Play Principles.
  • Offering a safe, stimulating environment for children, with creative and appropriate play opportunities.

The post holder will ideally hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years and Childcare and/or Play qualification or be willing to work towards it. Current working experience of leading and managing a team of staff is essential, along with experience of working in a similar lunch time setting. The post holder will be trained as an appointed First Aider.

The Federation of Abbey Infant and Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups including children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references are therefore required for this role.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. Pre-employment checks will be carried out in line with KCSIE.

Hours: 10 hours per week, term time only

Grade Band: C SCP 5 - 8 (£24,790 - £25,992) pro rata - Actual Salary: £5,849 - £6,133

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract initially until 17/07/2026 due to maternity cover
