There is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and enthusiastic team supporting the main Education Management Information System (MIS), known as Synergy, within the Education Service area in Sandwell. The Education MIS is used across the Education service for information management, executing business processes, and producing business intelligence. It supports the council’s statutory duties related to safeguarding, statutory processes, and data returns. This role involves working closely with team members in a busy environment, both in the office for at least 2 days a week and remotely, to provide effective support to end users of the system.
Key Duties:
- Assisting in data collection and reconciliation from schools, including communication to improve data quality.
- Supporting end users of the Education MIS, including fault resolution and liaising with the supplier.
- Performing system administration and maintenance tasks on Education MIS.
- Implementing new modules and testing system releases.
- Maintaining data quality by resolving issues and supporting users to improve data accuracy.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role with understanding of Management Information Systems.
- ICT skills with adaptability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High accuracy and attention to detail in data management.
- Effective team working and excellent communication skills.
Additional Information:
- Experience with the Synergy system and education business processes is advantageous but training will be provided.
Qualifications:
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above (A*-C) or equivalent. The successful candidate will need to provide evidence of these qualifications.
Hours: 37 hours per week.
Other Requirements:
- Successful candidates will be required to undertake a Standard DBS Check.
