We are seeking to appoint a dedicated teaching assistant to help with our school’s PE and School Sport Provision. This will include some teaching of PE, leading a physical activity breakfast club and accompanying pupils to sporting events.
Job Description
Main Activities:
- Plan and lead physical activities for a Breakfast Club catering for KS2 children.
- Deliver engaging and effective PE lessons during teacher’s PPA, leadership time and covering of classes as required.
- To assist with the support with group activities within and away from the classroom, i.e. PE, Swimming, sports festivals and educational visits. Assist in driving the school minibus to these events.
- To lead physical intervention groups to help pupils develop balance, agility and coordination.
- Promote pupil independence in learning and reinforcing the child(ren)’s self-esteem through praise and encouragement.
- Assist pupils in making progress across all subject areas
- Follow lesson plans and adapt them as necessary to meet the needs of pupils.
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Assess students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Support pupils with special educational needs and ensure inclusive practices.
- Monitor and record pupils progress and report to teachers.
- Maintain effective communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained with the classroom/school for all pupils.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality educational experiences.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Perform any reasonable duties as requested by the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher.
