Dudley MBC Bereavement Services is responsible for the operation of Gornal Wood and Stourbridge crematoria and the boroughs eight cemeteries.
The cemetery operative post will involve carrying out gravedigging and associated duties across the borough cemeteries in all weathers.
It will also be a requirement to work some weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis to help meet the needs of the out of hours burial service.
The post requires that the successful candidate holds a full UK driving licence with the provision to drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonne and also tow a trailer.
Experience of using a mechanical digger, including 360 excavators, is desirable.
You will also need to be able to carry out physical tasks, have good communication skills, be willing to undertake relevant training for the post and be able to relate sensitively to the bereaved.
Workplace Attendance: Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro-rata) or Onsite full time
