At Edgmond Hall we welcome mostly primary school children that visit during the week with their school. Evening meal is at 5pm and their teachers choose meals before their visit. Because it’s the same meal for the whole group and because they’re away from home, they tend to choose things they know the children will like, such as:
- Sausage & mash
- Pasta bolognaise
- Fish fingers, wedges and peas
You will be expected to:
- Prepare, cook and serve wholesome food for our young visitors on their school residential visit.
- Be passionate about food and nutrition and celebrate healthy choices with our guests.
- Quality control all aspects of catering, cleaning and room presentation.
- Manage all aspects of food hygiene, Environmental Health standards and regulations.
- Clean the kitchen and dining room to a high standard.
- Control stock, requisition and receive goods.
- Optional involvement in cultivating our kitchen gardens.
You will also be expected to:
- Have a “can do” attitude.
- Be comfortable working alone and as part of a small team.
- Hold at least a L2 food hygiene certificate.
- Be organised and have a strong understanding of food safety procedures.
- Be determined to create a warm and welcoming environment for our young visitors and their teachers.
Hours: 14 hours per week, Mon 10.30 am – 6:30 pm, Tues 10.30 am – 6:30 pm term time plus an additional 2 weeks. Some occasional weekends equally shared throughout the team.
Important Information: An enhanced DBS with children’s barring check will be required for the role.
