Do you love dogs but perhaps don't want the commitment of owning your own at the moment? Are you currently based from home (e.g. working or retired) but looking to earn extra money? Would you like to look after dogs in your home for customers who are at work during the day and/or on holiday?

We Love Pets (South Cambs) is looking to expand our team of home boarders who can provide an excellent home boarding experience for dogs. We are ideally looking for boarders who can look after up to three dogs on a regular basis (e.g. daycare while the owner is at work), but would also consider someone happy to board on a short term basis (e.g. covering a one or two week period while the owner is on holiday). Either way, we are seeking boarders who love dogs and who are happy to love and care for the dogs as they would their own.

Why join us?

We're a family business, with people and their pets at the heart of what we do. We've got years of experience taking care of other people's pets, we're fully licenced, insured and we DBS check all our staff. Our customers choose us because of our reputation for quality care and safety. If you're looking for a great alternative to owning a dog and an excuse to get out for regular exercise with the support of an established and regulated business behind you, then join We Love Pets.

What will I do?

You'll look after one or two dogs at a time while their owner is at work during the day or on holiday. It's important to welcome the dogs into your family and home and give them lots of cuddles and walks. You'll keep in touch with your local branch manager so they can provide support and we will handle the admin side of things such as your licence, insurance and taking bookings.

What can I expect?

We pay a fee per dog per day for cuddles and play time with dogs without having to commit to owning one full time. We also provide a boarding licence issued by the local council, and being part of We Love Pets means you'll join a pet-loving family and be part of a caring and supportive nationwide network.

What we ask:

  • You have a full driving licence and car suitable for transporting dogs if required
  • You are based in the Great Shelford, Whittlesford, Duxford, Newton, Sawston, Linton, Saffron Walden, Foxton, Shepreth, Melbourn or surrounding areas within South Cambridgeshire
  • You are based at home for most of the day
  • Your own pet(s) are neutered and welcoming of new friends
  • You own your own home or have the landlord's/owner's permission to run a business from home
  • Have a secure and non-communal garden

Training and development

We Love Pets is committed to staff development and offers a range of training and development opportunities, both within the branch and via our online training portal. We really value our team and as part of this commitment we ensure all staff:

  • Receive a six-monthly appraisal along with regular one-to-ones
  • Are provided with a personal performance plan to support their career development
  • Have access to a wide range of training opportunities to help develop within their role
  • Are enrolled on our PAWs skills-based reward system
  • Paid DBS check

Benefits: Work from home

Schedule: Monday to Friday + weekends when needed

Daily pay: Up to £100.00 per day (depending on how many dogs in daycare/boarding - maximum 4 dogs).

Application question(s):

  • Are you based in South Cambridgeshire?
