Are you ready to shape the financial baseline for the next generation of global AI infrastructure? At WNTD, we are defining the future of AI infrastructure as a fully vertically integrated platform—spanning capital, compute clusters, and proprietary software under a founder-led enterprise. Our mission is The Utility of Compute™: delivering AI infrastructure that is as dependable, scalable, and universally accessible as electricity. Backed by a $10 billion strategic partnership with a leading frontier AI lab, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5 billion AI Infrastructure Fund, WNTD is expanding rapidly from our core bases in London, Palo Alto, and New York. To power this next phase of hyper-growth, we are seeking a Global Estimating Manager to join our London team on a hybrid basis and take complete ownership of how WNTD prices, benchmarks, and baselines what it builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Fleet-Wide Estimating: Establish, maintain, and enforce robust estimating standards, methods, and class-defining cost models across all international project stages, from initial feasibility to final baselining.
  • Master Package Cost Modeling: Build rigorous "should-cost" models and granular cost breakdowns for critical long-lead equipment and complex technical packages, ensuring maximum budget precision early in the development lifecycle.
  • Drive Commercial Benchmarking: Develop comprehensive historical cost databases and benchmarking metrics across diverse regions, procurement routes, and delivery models to give WNTD an unbeatable competitive edge.
  • Empower Procurement & Delivery: Partner closely with procurement, front-end planning, and project controls to provide independent commercial intelligence that strengthens supplier negotiations and informs high-level strategy.
  • Capture Outturn Intelligence: Reconcile early-stage estimates against actual outturn construction costs, systematically feeding real-world data back into our models to continually sharpen financial accuracy across every build cycle.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Data Centre Estimating Expertise: Extensive, hands-on estimating background specifically focused on hyper-scale data centres or ultra-complex major capital infrastructure projects.
  • MEP Construction Cost Drivers: Deep, specialized mastery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) cost drivers, high-voltage power systems, and specialized cooling infrastructure.
  • Stage-Gate Precision: A proven track record of producing accurate capital expenditure estimates across early-stage feasibility, conceptual design, and detailed post-design baselines.
  • Cross-Border Adaptability: Commercial agility and confidence navigating both European and US supply chains, regional market nuances, and international stakeholder environments.
  • Commercial Strategy: Sharp business acumen with a history of translating technical cost models into actionable leverage during high-stakes commercial negotiations.

Nice-to-Have

  • Should-Cost Modeling & Benchmarking: Hands-on experience creating custom, parametric benchmarking tools and first-principles "should-cost" frameworks for critical long-lead equipment.
  • Project Delivery Integration: Prior experience working within high-growth technology platforms or direct owner-operator environments where speed-to-market is critical.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: A passion for coaching multidisciplinary project teams, advancing cost literacy, and embedding modern estimating methodologies across cross-functional groups.
