Stirling Council, Housing Services are seeking to recruit a Technical Supervisor to oversee our plumbing section. The position is within our Capital and Technical Team; however, you will be expected to be flexible in your approach to accommodate varying work demands.

Location: Allanwater House/Mobile

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 35 per week

Salary: £42,276-£44,763

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out property inspections to identify repairs and remedial work.
  • Identify pre-planned preventative maintenance requirements and capital investment works.
  • Manage day-to-day plumbing trades and, on occasion, oversee and manage sub-contractors; liaise with clients and customers.
  • Maintain effective communication, produce management and performance reports, and participate in toolbox talks and safety updates for staff.
  • Provide a professional service delivered efficiently and economically.
  • Participate in the Standby/On Call rota; a driving licence is essential.
  • Undertake Level 1 Disclosure check if progressed to interview stage.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Knowledge of construction and experience in plumbing supervision; knowledge of mechanical services and recognised plumbing qualifications.
  • Up-to-date gas qualifications and knowledge of water safety byelaws and protocols, including temperature monitoring, flushing regimes, and legionella prevention measures.
  • Good communication skills and competence in a variety of Microsoft applications; knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Ability to carry out management and performance reports and to deliver toolbox talks and safety updates to staff.
  • Essential requirement to participate in Standby/On Call rota and a valid driving licence.
