A vacancy has arisen for the post of Community Library Officer (part-time) at Bridge of Allan Library. You will assist in the development, operation and delivery of a range of library services, engaging with the community and encouraging use by all age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, operation and delivery of a range of library services, engaging with the community and encouraging use by all age groups.
  • Be educated to Standard Grade or equivalent, have an interest in literature and good ICT skills.
  • A flexible approach to the working week, which includes evening and weekend working, is essential. You may be required to work in other locations.
  • Have good communication skills, be customer focused and able to work unsupervised.
  • Previous library experience and experience of using a Library Management System is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.

Qualifications

  • Education to Standard Grade or equivalent.
  • Interest in literature and good ICT skills.
  • Experience with a Library Management System (essential).
  • PVG membership is required if appointed.
