Want to create memes for a living? This is the job for you. We’re looking for graduates, freelance junior creatives, or students who are chronically online and genuinely understand meme marketing, internet culture and viral content. This is a junior role, but please note: if you don’t already understand this space, your application will automatically be rejected.

We’re not looking for someone who just “likes social media.” We’re looking for someone who instinctively spots trends before they peak, understands what makes content shareable, and can turn an internet moment into a post that has all the hallmarks of Made In Poor Taste.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Sourcing viral and reactive content across TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, X, YouTube and emerging platforms
  • Turning trends, memes and cultural moments into high-performing social posts
  • Assisting with the creation and management of content across our pages
  • Pitching fresh ideas for memes, videos, edits and reactive content
  • Helping create original content concepts when trends don’t already exist
  • Working closely with the wider creative team on campaigns, shoots and social ideas
  • Understanding platform culture and what works natively on each channel
  • Being deeply online (yes, seriously)

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong understanding of meme culture, internet humour and social trends
  • Relevant educational, freelance or personal project experience within content/social media
  • Evidence you can spot viral content quickly and understand why it works
  • Strong awareness of TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, X and emerging platforms
  • Fast thinker with creative instincts and a good sense of humour
  • Someone proactive who brings ideas, not problems
  • Be able to edit videos

Important: This role is specifically for people who already live and breathe internet culture. Without experience or knowledge in this space, your application will not be considered.

Interview Process: If selected for interview, we’ll ask you to submit a short video explaining:

  • Why this is the perfect job for you
  • Your favourite example of meme marketing/content
  • A trend or format you think brands are currently getting wrong

If your screen time is concerningly high, this may genuinely be your dream role.
